Never. Keys are generated on the device and stay there. We don't store seed phrases, we can't recover them, and we can't move anything held in a wallet you control. If you lose both the device and the engraved plate, no one — including us — can restore access.
The device has no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, no cellular radio, and no USB data lines. It communicates only by showing and scanning QR codes, so there is no wired or wireless path an attacker can reach across.
Paper is the weakest part of most self-custody setups — it burns, soaks, fades, and gets thrown out. A stamped titanium plate survives fire and flood and stays readable for decades.
