This policy explains what BitKeyShop ("we", "us") collects when you visit bitkeyshop.com or place an order, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website and to our customer support channels.
We never collect, request, or store private keys, recovery phrases, seed words, PINs, or wallet passphrases. No BitKeyShop employee will ever ask you for them. If someone claiming to be us does, it is a scam — hang up and email support@bitkeyshop.com.
Information we collect
- Order information: name, shipping address, billing address, email address, and phone number, so we can fulfil and deliver your order.
- Payment information: processed by our third-party payment processor. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits of a card; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Support correspondence: the contents of emails, contact form submissions, and call notes, kept so we can follow up on your issue.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed, collected through server logs and basic analytics.
What we do not collect
We do not collect wallet addresses, transaction histories, balances, or on-chain activity. Because we sell hardware and not financial services, we have no reason to know what you hold or what you do with the device after it ships.
How we use your information
- To process, pack, and ship orders, and to handle returns and warranty claims.
- To answer support questions and provide product guidance.
- To detect fraud, prevent abuse, and keep the site secure.
- To comply with tax, accounting, customs, and other legal obligations.
- To send order updates. Marketing email is sent only if you opt in, and every message includes an unsubscribe link.
Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do their job for us: payment processors, shipping carriers and customs brokers, email and helpdesk providers, and our accountants. They are contractually limited to using it for that purpose. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information where required by law, valid legal process, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
Retention
Order records are kept for as long as required by tax and accounting law — generally seven years in the United States. Support correspondence is kept for up to three years. Server logs are retained for 90 days. When a retention period ends, records are deleted or anonymised.
Security
The site runs over TLS, access to order data is limited to staff who need it, and administrative accounts require multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not hold the kind of data — keys, phrases, funds — that would make a breach catastrophic for you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom have specific statutory rights in this area. To exercise any of them, email support@bitkeyshop.com. We respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for asking.
International transfers
We operate from the United States, so information you send us is processed there. If you order from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and stored in the US under appropriate safeguards.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page, and for significant changes we will notify customers by email. Questions go to support@bitkeyshop.com, or by mail to BitKeyShop, Suite 1500, The Plaza, 121 S Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32801.
